WHAT I BELIEVE

I believe the Bible is in the truest sense the very word of God, given by inspiration of God and therefore it is inerrant, authoritative and all sufficient, being the supreme and final word in all matters regarding salvation, faith and Christian behavior. “I believe in a whole Bible not a Bible full of holes”. The following scriptures will verify my belief:

I believe that there is one true God, who eternally exits in three equal persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and that He is the God of creation as well as the God of salvation.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.

I believe that He came from heaven, was miraculously born of the Virgin Mary, that He was the only one who lived a sinless life on earth yet died for our sins at Calvary’s cross where He fully and eternally paid the penalty for sin and completed the work of redemption.

I believe that He was buried and rose again according to the scriptures. Of this great truth He gave indisputable evidence, appearing unto many, and accompanying with them for a period of forty days. After this, in the presence of credible witnesses, He ascending up to Heaven, where He is now enthroned at the Father’s right hand.

I believe that man was created by God in His own image and likeness, and did not “evolve” from some lower forms of life. Through disobedience to the commandment of God, he fell from his high estate and became a sinner in nature and by practice. Because of this he also became alienated from God and “dead in trespasses and sins”.

I believe in the existence of a literal Heaven to gain as well as a literal Hell to avoid. I believe that the only way a sinner can be saved for Heaven and saved from Hell is to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Since we are all born into this world with a sinful nature we must be “born again” (born from above) by the Holy Spirit of God using the Word of God to bring both conviction and conversation to our souls. There is absolutely nothing we can do to either merit or inherit the kingdom of God.

I believe that Christians should be gathered unto the Name and person of the Lord Jesus Christ for public worship, praise and ministry of the Word of God and that the church has two specific ordinances which are to be observed by believers only. These are the “Lord’s Supper”, to be observed each Lord’s Day, to remember the Saviour and baptism by immersion, a one time act following conversion to Christ. (Salvation by the act of baptism and infant baptism are not taught in the Word of God).

I believe in the conscious and eternal punishment, after death, of the impenitent and unsaved. The spirits of those who are saved and born again, at death, go to be with Christ in Heaven. They are “absent from the body and present with the Lord”. Their bodies are left behind until Christ’s second coming, when they will be raised from the dead, incorruptible, and reunited with their spirits and so be “forever with the Lord”. In like manner, the spirits of those who die out of Christ descend into Hell, their bodies being raised and reunited with their spirits at the “Great White Throne Judgment”, after which their eternal destiny will be confinement in the Lake of Fire.

I believe the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is very near. World events are pointing to His soon coming and even more important, the Bible teaches the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ as the next great event on God’s prophetic calendar.

There are many other Biblical truths in which I believe and in summary, I say again, that “I believe in the whole Bible and not a Bible full of holes”. This may be a good time to ask yourself, “What do I believe”? Why do I believe the way I do”? What proofs do I have to support my beliefs”? Am I willing to gamble my eternal destiny on what I believe”? Please give this matter your most serious consideration.
